Chicken Tandoori
Ingredients
| 1½ kg | chicken |
| 1 cup | plain yogurt (strained) |
| 5–6 tbsp | lemon juice |
| 4–6 tbsp | oil or melted butter |
Instructions
- Mix lemon juice, food color (if using), and 2 tablespoons of oil or butter.
- Apply the mixture to chicken pieces and prick with a fork all over to absorb the marinade. Let it sit for 30 minutes.
- Apply strained yogurt over the chicken and marinate for an additional 3 hours or more in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Arrange the chicken pieces on a baking tray, discarding the excess marinade.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then brush with the remaining oil or butter.
- Place under the grill on high heat for a few minutes until the chicken is lightly browned, or barbecue over open flame until cooked through and charred lightly.
